How can women make creative use of our anger?
What healing is there in bringing out our own anger stories?
For years, women have been afraid to show anger. It was often not “allowed” by our parents and is still discouraged by a culture which threatens to displace us as a consequence. What is the story behind that? What is behind the fear of women’s anger?
In this 3-part series, we will discuss the effect of anger on our bodies and our emotions. There are physical, psychological and spiritual manifestations of the taboo on women’s anger that we cannot ignore if we want to thrive and not just survive.
How can we best convert the energy of our anger so that it doesn’t weaken our immune systems at a time when we need more strength and resilience than ever?
We have a rare opportunity now, while sheltering-in-place, to examine this question. This is an “emotional archaeology” project which gives us a chance to delve more deeply into our personal and collective story of anger and our relationship to it as women.
We will discuss the power of women’s anger, the reasons we need it, and its transformative power, how it can serve as a catalyst through spurring our creativity and expanding our hearts.
